Teaching Cello -Duets for Early-Advanced Cello Students

These duets include plenty of shifting and may include tenor or treble clef and thumb position. Great as supplements and to help students work on rhythm.

Lee Six Duets, Vol II

Klengel Suite for Two Cellos

This Klengel Suite has some complicated (and high) thumb position, but is not quite difficult enough to be in "Late-Advanced".

Viotti Duos

These Viotti Duos use occasional thumb position, but their main difficulty lies in their keys: E, A, and E-flat major.

Two Cellos and Piano

Bach Sonata for Two Cellos and Piano

I love the last movement of this Bach Sonata for Two Cellos and Piano; a great recital piece for advanced students to play together. Set aside a lot of rehearsal time, though; the counting for the entrances is quite tricky.

Bach Double for Two Cellos and Piano

Yes, that Bach Double. For two cellos! What incredible (yet quite challenging) fun!
